09.02.2017

This time famous traveler together with vice-president of the Russian Ballooning Federation Ivan Menyalo has broken the air-balloon flight duration world record. They’ve been in the air for more than 51 hours. The previous record was made by Japanese balloonists 25 years ago.

Despite the victory, Russian explorers don’t want to land yet. At this point, they plan to go 1000 km (621.371 miles) more. The helium and hot-air balloon are currently passing Saratov district.

Let us remind that balloonists took off on February, 7 from the Rubinsk airfield located in Yaroslavl Oblast. As Konyukhov advised earlier, there were two principal factors for the flight: the chill and lack of clouds. It was planned that explorers would take out in the middle of January but the start was postponed because of the unfavourable weather conditions.
