Russian Teachers celebrate their professional holiday

kirov-portal.ru Russian teachers celebrate their professional holiday today, October 5. More than two and a half million teachers became heroes of the day, TASS reports.

The teachers will be honored in the Kremlin Palace today, where the gala concert and Crystal Pelican awarding ceremony will take place in the evening. The award will be handed out to the winner of the Teacher of the Year contest. This contest was organized this year in Sochi.

Representatives of eighty-five Russian regions too part in it. They competed for the victory for two weeks proving their skills to the jury, which consisted of the winners of the last years.

Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva congratulated her colleagues with the holiday. In her opinion, Russian teachers differ from the rest by their ability to sympathize, understand and find a way to an individual child. She is sure that teachers become supervisors and mentors for children. Minister has underlined that the importance of teacher’s work is hard to overestimate.

Everybody is welcome to congratulate their teachers. All-Russian campaign #FavoriteTeacher has been launched. Everybody can publish the picture of their teacher and add hashtag explaining their choice. The picture can be taken out of the family archive. The pictures will be displayed at the interactive panel of the project FavoriteTeacher and can be seen at the wall of the project teacher.nw.digital.
