Paris met representatives of the Association of Russian veterans of the French Combattant Volunteer Resistance. The meeting with the descendants of Russian soldiers who fought as part of the French Resistance during the Second World War was held at Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Paris. The delegation arrived in the capital of France as part of the rally, timed to the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the liberation of Europe from fascism, Russkiy Ochevidets reports.
The path of motorrally passes through the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Italy, in which, during World War II, bloody battles took place and guerrilla units fought. Daughter of Oleg Ozerov, the initiator of the installation in Paris of a monument to the Russian participants in the Resistance, opened in 2005, went on the road.
During their stay in Paris, representatives of the Association laid wreaths at the monument in Pere Lachaise cemetery. Russian diplomats, compatriots and local residents also took part in the action. During the meeting in the RCSC in Paris, the organizers and members of the Association exchanged souvenirs. Guests visited the Stalingrad in the Fate of France exhibition.
At the moment, the rally participants are going through France: a stop will be held in Bordeaux on April 24, and further events are scheduled in Toulon, Cannes and Nice. The action will end in Italy.
