The leading organizations of Russian scouts in Australia held a joint rally for the first time. Young scouts from Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide took part in it. The program of the meeting included hiking, training on land and water, as well as excursions and songs around the campfire with a guitar. The organizers of the rally called it historic and announced the continuation of joint work, the Russian newspaper in Australia, Edinenie, reports.

The rally held in Melbourne was attended by members of the two most representative scout organizations in Australia - the National Organization of Russian Scouts (NORS) and the Organization of Russian Young Intelligence (ORYI), which emerged in Germany during World War II. The members of the ORYI were forced to rename the organization since the Nazis banned the scout movement.

During the rally, participants of two organizations from three cities admitted that they remained part of one movement created 110 years ago by the first Russian scout Oleg Pantyukhov.

The rally lasted for four days, each of the squads prepared its own programs. Participants went on a hike, examined local attractions, learned how to deliver medical care and learned the safety rules for being in water and cooking on fire. A special part of the camp’s life was campfire gatherings with songs and interesting stories. Australia's scout organizations have agreed to continue cooperation.
