Ornella Muti wants to obtain Russian citizenship

Italian actress and world cinema star Ornella Muti, who has Russian roots, wants to become a citizen of Russia. The actress announced this during a visit to the exhibition of Nikas Safronov in the Moscow Museum of Modern History of Russia, TASS reports. She also said that she was studying Russian.

Muti said that in pre-revolutionary times, her grandfather was a doctor, and grandmother was a pianist in Russia. The actress admitted that she feels at home in Russia, loves Russian culture and would like to obtain a citizenship. Muti mentioned that she did not finish preparing a package of documents for a citizenship application yet.

According to the actress, she is studying the language, but lacks practice. Artist Nikas Safronov, who accompanied Ornella Muti at the exhibition, offered her help with the studies. As a gift, the actress received her portrait from the artist.

In 2019, Ornella Muti celebrates the 50th anniversary of her film career, the first film with her participation was released when she was 14 years old.
