Russian language specialists from UK and other countries discussed online learning

Russian language teachers from around the world discussed topical issues of organizing full-time and distance education in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and after its completion. The 6th "Back to the Future - Study without Borders and Screens" forum gathered teachers from Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Belgium and Azerbaijan, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

The participants talked about their methods and best practices that they use to organize the educational process, about the use of game techniques in the lessons and about the difficulties of online learning. There was also a discussion of the issues of teaching Russian as a foreign language in the current conditions, changes in programs and materials for distance learning.

The experts listened with interest to a story about a new textbook for bilingual children -  “Stories about Belka and Strelka”, created with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. In addition, the forum discussed the psychological aspects of online learning.

The forum was held by the Baltika educational center with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Great Britain and Northern Ireland and several educational organizations.

In 2021, the Lake Baikal Ice Marathon was held on Baikal for the 17th time. The reporter of the Dutch newspaper de Volksrant decided to test himself and overcome 42 kilometers at -29 degrees Celsius and in a scorching wind. He was joined by other 60 athletes.
