Descendants of Russian emigrants meet in Beirut

''The connection between times and generations" round table discussion took place in Beirut, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports. Its program brought together scientists, historians, public figures, journalists. They were joined by the descendants of the first wave of emigrants, who were forced to leave Russia after the October Revolution. They introduced guests and participants to their family history.

Alexander Iordanov spoke about his family, which has been living in Lebanon for several decades. Fyodor Raskatov's memoirs were presented by his son Stepan. The fate of Russian musicians who emigrated to Lebanon became the main topic of research by Tatiana Bacher. 

The participants shared historical pictures from family albums and much more.

Svetlana Safa, a member of the Regional Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots, spoke about the library of the Russian Technical Society. A year ago, the library received the books which the emigrants took with them when leaving their homeland. Now they are available to everyone.
