Almost 40 tons of humanitarian cargo were brought to Afghanistan from Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports. The department clarified that the aid was delivered by a special flight of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The plane with a cargo of wheat flour landed at the airport of the Afghan capital the day before, September, 14.
Humanitarian aid was collected by representatives of the Afghan diaspora living in Russia. The campaign was evidence that interaction between national diasporas who support their homeland provides enormous opportunities for cooperation between countries, Russian diplomats noted.
They promised that work aimed at helping the friendly population of Afghanistan will certainly continue.
In the summer of 2022, 24 tons of humanitarian aid were received by residents of Afghanistan affected by the large-scale earthquake. It hit several Afghan provinces on the night of June, 22. More than 1,000 people died, over 2,000 Afghan residents were injured. In early July, more than 60 people were killed by floods.
Last fall, more than 60 tons of essential goods were brought from Moscow.
