Russian athletes will not be able to compete at the World Championship in Athletics under the national flag. The competition is scheduled for the summer 2017. According to the head of the IAAF taskforce Rune Andersen, who deals with regaining the membership of Russian Athletics Federation, in the best case this issue will be resolved in the late fall. Before that, the committee will not permit Russia to regain the IAAF membership.

Mr. Andersen underlined that this process is directly dependent on the time when Russian Anti-Doping Agency meets the Code of WADA (World Anti–Doping Agency).

Meanwhile, Russian athletes not involved in the doping scandal, can compete individually under the neutral flag.

As Russkiy Mir portal reported earlier, IAAF made a decision to disqualify Russian Athletics Federation last summer. For this reason, our athletes could not participate in Rio Olympics 2016.
