Russia in ready to retaliate for Magnitsky list expansion

21.12.2017

RF Foreign Ministry press-serviceRussia will retaliate tit-for-tat over a new addition to Magnitsky list, RIA Novosti reports.

Let us remember, American authorities have expanded the list of Magnitsky having included Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov and four citizens of the Russian Federation. Now the Magnitsky list comprises 49 names.

According to The Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova this action of United States “looks preposterous in the face of global challenges and threats for our countries as well as for the whole world.” Maria Zakharova has added this decision of US authorities has no cognizable basis.

Nevertheless, in this situation position of Russia stays the same – Russia is to respond accordingly. Moscow plans to continue strategic partnership with US, however it's very sad that certain political forces from overseas are interested in destroying bilateral relations and continue the sanctions games.
