Moscow and Berlin are going to develop partnership in science and education, ТАSS informs. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, it is planned to have a year of cross-educational partnership. Lavrov reached this agreement at the meeting with his German counterpart on May 10.

In the Ministers’ opinion this incentive would promote creation of bonds between the two countries.

At the meeting the parties agreed that the year of regional partnership had been going very well. The year’s closing ceremony is to take place this autumn in Germany. Sergei Lavrov mentioned that people in both countries had shown a significant interest in the project, so it should be continued and developed.

“This is crucial for sustaining mutual trust, developing bonds between the people and strengthening the historical ties between the nations,” stressed the Russian Minister.

Both Russia and Germany are interested in strengthening social ties. The contribution of Petersburg Dialogue Forum and Potsdam Meetings Forum can’t be overestimated.

The parties also agreed to develop cultural bonds – Germany is going to host Russian Seasons festival next year. Sergei Lavrov said he was certain that the audience would welcome the event.
