Another Testing Center for Russian as a Foreign Language has appeared in China. It was opened by St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU), according to the website of the university. The ceremony was timed to coincide with a forum dedicated to strategic cooperation between the two countries.

The center will operate on the basis of Tsinghua University, one of the leading universities in China. According to the representative of the university council Yuan Si, the center will meet the key needs of the country. Yuan Si noted that China needs specialists with knowledge of the Russian language, and expressed gratitude to the Russian colleagues for the work done.

Sergei Andryushin, Deputy Rector of St. Petersburg State University, recalled that the university has been testing Russian as a foreign language for more than 20 years. Today, there are over 100 SPbU testing centers operating in 40 countries. The SPbU representative has no doubts that the new SPbU testing center can be called one of the most important results of the years of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation between Russia and China. Now everyone who is studying the Russian language will be able to check the level of language proficiency and receive a state certificate. This certificate is necessary, in particular, in order to continue education in Russian universities.
