Foreigners are interested in Russian country estates

Museum–reserve of A. P. Chekhov Melikhovo Russian Estates project attracted three times more tourists from abroad to Old Russian country estates, as per the head of Russian Ministry of Culture Vladimir Medinsky who made this statement in the course of his presentation at the forum of small towns and historical settlements, IA Interfax informs.

Minister has reminded that the project originated three years ago. It attracted many foreign guests since then. In particular, a number of French, German and Italian tourists has grown by two times.

According to Medinsky, it is high time to involve not just federal museums but private country estates into the project. He has left positive feedback on initiative to reconstruct ruined estates at the expense of private investors. The price of the rent is several cents for 99 years, he reminded. Besides, investors will have all possible benefits in case they are ready to arrange a museum in certain parts of the building.

Note that fifteen regions of Russia are taking part in the Russian Estates tourist project. Two hundred tourist routes have been developed, the most fascinating of them are Continue, continue my contemplation… (Bryansk – s. Dyatkovo – Ovstug – Bryansk), Russian Estates. The Tula Region (Moscow – Dvoryaninovo – Polenovo- Tula – Yasnaya Polyana – Moscow) The Moscow Region’s Design (Moscow – Melikhovo – Talezh village – Peshkovo village – Ozyory village – Zaraysk – Kolomna – Moscow) and some others.
