Karelia region represented at Finnish tourist expo

Karelia presented the region’s tourism opportunities at the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair expo, which took place in Helsinki, IA Glas Naroda reports. This is one of the largest exhibitions in Finland, where more than 90 different countries are represented.

Guests from Petrozavodsk told the Finnish tourist industry representatives about the things that Karelia can provide for Finnish travelers, and the new logistic capabilities of the region in connection with its transport infrastructure development. 

Many residents of Helsinki and other cities visited the large expo with continuing interest to Russian stand. The number of its guests reached 64 thousand people. Most of them said that they wanted to find summer recreation offers, and some people were interested in winter vacations. 

The stand of Karelia generated interest among Finnish tourist industry professionals. It is planned that the expo will attract more tourists from Finland to the region.
