APEC Education Forum launches in Vladivostok

7th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum  on Education started working in Vladivostok today, September 11.  It is held in frames of the Eastern Economic Forum, Russian Education website reports. 

It's central topic is “Education inI the digital era: challenges and opportunities for APEC.”

APEC Forum brought together more than 100 participants from countries in the Asia-Pacific region arrived to the Forum, including heads of diplomatic missions, presidents of  local higher education institutions, experts and scholars.

Deputy Minister of education of the Russian Federation Maria Borovskaya expressed hope that the conference to become an effective platform for establishing and deeper and constant cooperation in all range of topics and at various levels.

Humanitarian areas are playing bigger role now, at a time of the current technological breakthrough, according to the Deputy Minister. Many leading universities engage in spiritual and moral guidance of the young generation.

First APEC Conference took place in the Primorsky Krai capital in 2012. Three years ago it has become the part of the World Economic Forum program.
